Softball Recap: Texas Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

After only one run in their last matchup, Texas made sure to put some runs up on the board against Grace Community on Friday. Everything went the Texas Tigers' way against the Grace Community Cougars as the Texas Tigers made off with a 13-2 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.

Palin Nichols spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Sydney Woods was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preslie Clopp, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Texas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.

Texas' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Coincidentally, Texas and Grace Community will both be playing Cross Roads the next time they take the field. Texas will head out to face Cross Roads at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, while Grace Community will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
