Recap: Southside Panthers vs. Hueytown Golden Gophers
The Southside Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They wrapped up 2023 with a 71-53 victory over Hueytown. The victory was nothing new for Southside as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Southside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Anne rose, who scored 17 points. The match was Anne rose's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madison Shaw, who scored 18 points.
Southside's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Hueytown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Southside won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Thompson at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. Thompson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Hueytown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against James Clemens at 6:00 p.m. James Clemens is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
