Softball Recap: Pueblo East Eagles vs. Falcon Falcons

After losing to Falcon the last time they met, Pueblo East decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pueblo East Eagles blew past the Falcon Falcons 10-3 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bella Baca tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Emilee Hutchings was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Thompson, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Pueblo East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in five consecutive games.

Pueblo East now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Falcon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
