Volleyball Recap: Metea Valley Comes Up Short

Metea Valley lost against Benet Academy two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Redwings.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19.

Nathan Verthein paced Metea Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Verthein got some help from Om Patel and his 14 assists. Shriyans Battula controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Benet Academy to victory were Ryan Pecak and Luke Mitra. Pecak had seven digs and two aces, while Mitra had four assists. That's the most assists Mitra has posted over his last four contests.

Metea Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Benet Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Metea Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Naperville Central on the 1st. As for Benet Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Carmel on the 1st.
