Gretna East took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Lincoln Northwest by a score of 11-8. The high-scoring effort was just what the Griffins needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.
Kendall Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Addi Shannon was a standout: she fired off two home runs, three RBI, and a double while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Anderson, who went 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs.

The victory got Gretna East back to even at 7-7. As for Norris, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
