Volleyball Recap: Edcouch-Elsa Extends Winning Streak to Three

Edcouch-Elsa entered their tilt with Roma on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Gladiators by a score of 2-0. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Gladiators, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edcouch-Elsa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Timara Leal, who had five aces and four digs. That's the most aces Leal has posted since back in August of 2024.

Leal wasn't the only good server: Edcouch-Elsa was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Edcouch-Elsa now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Roma, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Edcouch-Elsa and Roma will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellowjackets are set to square off against their familiar foe Donna North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Roma will face off against rival Mission Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
