Football Recap: Northwood Comes Up Short on the Road Against Harnett Central

Northwood kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Harnett Central Trojans and fell 55-7. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Northwood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Eli Minges, Raje Torres, and Grayson Cox picked up one apiece.

Ro'Shawn Towson was nothing short of spectacular for Harnett Central: he rushed for 157 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Those 157 rushing yards gave Towson a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Josiah Grice, who rushed for 66 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries.

Coming up, Northwood will be playing at home against Asheboro at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harnett Central, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Overhills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
