Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Has No Trouble Against Dominican

St. Joseph won the last time they faced Dominican and things went their way on Thursday too. The Lancers put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 16-3 win. Considering the Lancers have won eight matchups by more than 12 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

St. Joseph got a great performance from Nick Falk as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Peter Visconti was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests. Dominic Santarelli was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dominican only posted an OBP of .346.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Joseph and bumps their season record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Dominican, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

St. Joseph will be playing in front of their home fans against Martin Luther at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dominican, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-0 defeat against Wisconsin Dells on the 3rd.
