Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Oakwood extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Isabelle Anderson. The Hawks came out on top in a nail-biter against Monterey Bay Academy on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 thanks in part to Anderson, who had 12 kills, 11 digs, ten aces, and five blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 23 games she's played dating back to last season.

Oakwood got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the fourth set. The final score came out to 19-25, 22-25, 25-16, 30-28, 15-11.

Oakwood was led to victory by Nalani Goulart and Sophia Fieler. Goulart had 20 digs and nine aces, while Fieler had 17 kills, six aces, and four digs. That's the most digs Fieler has posted since back in September. Camilla Mendoza was another key player, getting 15 digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Oakwood was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 28 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Oakwood's record now sits at 16-5. As for Monterey Bay Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Oakwood will host Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monterey Bay Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th.
