Basketball Recap: Porter Find Success

Porter hadn't done well against Crosby recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Porter Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Crosby Cougars. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since November 7th.

Crosby's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Romareya Lister, who posted ten points. That's the most points Lister has posted since back in January. Jasmine Zapata was another key player, putting up eight points.

Porter's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Crosby, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-10.

Porter will host West Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crosby, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Crosby Cougars take on the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Splendora will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Crosby surely won't give up without a fight.
