Basketball Recap: Manhattan Gets the Win

Manhattan won the last time they faced Jefferson and things went their way on Friday too. The Manhattan Tigers pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over the Jefferson Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Jefferson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyler Frydenlund, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Wyatt Geier was another key player, putting up 18 points and eight rebounds.

Manhattan pushed their record up to 2-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Jefferson, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Manhattan and Ennis will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Jefferson, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lone Peak at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
