Softball Game Preview: Waynedale Golden Bears vs. Loudonville Redbirds

The Waynedale Golden Bears will challenge the Loudonville Redbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Loudonville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Waynedale, who comes in off a win.

Waynedale is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Fairless 7-6.

Brooke Compston made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. Compston was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kendall Rising was excellent, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Madi Miller was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Loudonville suffered their biggest defeat since March 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 15-1 to Crestview.

The victory got Waynedale back to even at 1-1. As for Loudonville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
