Recap: Holly Springs Golden Hawks vs. Willow Spring Storm
The Holly Springs Golden Hawks entered their tilt with the Willow Spring Storm with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Holly Springs pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over Willow Spring. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Willow Spring lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is J'Ashton Wooden. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Grant Overman was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 10 blocks.
Holly Springs' win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Willow Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holly Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Topsail at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Topsail's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Willow Spring, they will head out on the road to face off against Green Level at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Green Level focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Tuesday.
