Volleyball Recap: Benet Academy Redwings vs. St. Charles North North Stars
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Benet Academy had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They beat the St. Charles North North Stars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redwings also won the last time the pair played back in October.
Benet Academy never let St. Charles North on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 28-26.
Despite the loss, St. Charles North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison Kashuba had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Kashuba a new career-high.
The win was the fourth in a row for Benet Academy, bringing their record for this year to 38-1. As for St. Charles North, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 32-7.
Benet Academy will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against New Trier at 6:00 p.m. New Trier will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Benet Academy surely won't give up without a fight. St. Charles North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
