Softball Game Preview: Buena Colts vs. Pueblo Warriors

The Buena Colts will square off against the Pueblo Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Buena will be strutting in after a victory while Pueblo will be coming in after a loss.

Buena is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Nogales with a sharp 22-2 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Colts with their most commanding win of the season.

Ariella Antemann made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Buena got a massive performance out of Amaya Serrano, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Morgan Smith, who went 2-for-4 with four runs and four RBI.

Buena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Pueblo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to Cienega.

Buena's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16. As for Pueblo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
