Baseball Game Preview: Schenck Wolverines vs. Stearns Minutemen

Schenck is 2-8 against Stearns since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wolverines will welcome the Minutemen at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Wednesday, Schenck came up short against Lee Academy and fell 7-2.

Schenck saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Wyman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Wyman has become a key player for the Wolverines: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Stearns was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to Mattanawcook.

Schenck's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Stearns, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.

Schenck beat Stearns 14-9 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Minutemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
