Basketball Game Preview: Memorial Mustangs vs. Stratford Spartans

Memorial and Stratford are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Memorial Mustangs will face off against the Stratford Spartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Memorial is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Jersey Village on Wednesday. Memorial fell 60-48 to Jersey Village.

Meanwhile, Stratford had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 47-42 W over Cypress Ridge on Wednesday. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.

Stratford's win bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Memorial, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Memorial came up short against Stratford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 35-28. Can Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
