Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy Christian Academy). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mayer Lutheran Crusaders on Thursday, sneaking past 14-12. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Crusaders back in April, they had to take a 17-4 defeat.
Claire Flansburg was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Annika Kjelland, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Legacy Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Legacy Christian Academy's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11. As for Mayer Lutheran, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.
