Sweetwater came out on top against Marion County on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Sadie Scott's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Chesney Isbill was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
Sweetwater has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 21-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Marion County, they now have a losing record of 15-16.
As of now, neither Sweetwater nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
