Loyalton entered their tilt with Princeton on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 back in September.

Loyalton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-23.

When it comes to explaining why Princeton lost, don't look at Starlin Smith. Despite the final result, she had six digs and two aces. Smith is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Loyalton's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Loyalton will challenge rival Plumas Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Princeton is set to face off against their familiar foe Elk Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
