Baseball Game Preview: Lanesville Eagles vs. Clarksville Generals

The Lanesville Eagles will take on the Clarksville Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clarksville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lanesville, who comes in off a win.

Lanesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Corydon Central by a score of 9-6 on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Panthers on their field since April 16, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Bo Kahl, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Wiseman, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Providence hit Clarksville with a six-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Generals lost 14-3 to the Pioneers. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clarksville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Cristian Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Lanesville's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Clarksville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Lanesville took their victory against Clarksville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Generals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
