Baseball Game Preview: Santa Rosa Warriors vs. Progreso Red Ants

The Santa Rosa Warriors will challenge the Progreso Red Ants at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Santa Rosa is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 20-4 to Rio Hondo.

Meanwhile, Progreso unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak last Tuesday. They came up short against Raymondville, falling 14-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Red Ants couldn't push the score so high this time.

Progreso saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abel Cavazos, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Cavazos is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Progreso's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Santa Rosa couldn't quite get it done against Progreso in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 6-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
