Recap: San Marcos Academy Bears vs. St. Stephen's Episcopal Spartans
On Monday, San Marcos Academy took a serious blow against St. Stephen's Episcopal, falling 71-37. While losing is never fun, San Marcos Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1234th, while St. Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 255th).
Among those leading the charge was Gabriel Sahely, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenrik Kabano, who scored ten points.
San Marcos Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
San Marcos Academy will take on Lifegate Christian in a holiday battle at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at. Lifegate Christian is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against South Austin W at 7:00 p.m. South Austin W is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
