Connecticut quarterback Tanner Kingsley has record night.

Tanner Kingsley of Woodland Regional (Beacon Falls, Conn.) set a Connecticut state record for passing yardage in a game by throwing for 615 yards in a 62-26 win over Seymour.

Kingsley tops the previous mark of 599 yards, set by Kurt Horton of New Canaan in 1970. Kingsley also threw eight touchdown passes and his two receivers, Anthony Scirpo and Rahmi Roundtree, are the top two individual receivers in this week's MaxPreps National Football Stat Stars.

Jalen Hurd of Beech had his second-best game of the season in rushing for 396 yards in a 64-31 playoff win over Jackson North Side. Hurd had been nursing a shoulder injury for the past month, but he upped his season yardage total to 2,963 yards with his big night.

Another runner to watch is Jacob Taylor of Rim of the World (Calif.). He posted his fifth straight 300-yard rushing effort with 377 yards and seven touchdowns in a 69-20 win over Banning. Taylor is second in the nation with 3,722 yards and he is third in touchdowns with 54.
