Recap: Sumner Stingrays vs. Bloomingdale Bulls

The Sumner Stingrays had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 64-53 victory over Bloomingdale. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Sumner also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

Jacob Douglas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with nine assists and five steals. That's the first time this season that he posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Williams, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Bloomingdale, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Sumner will stay at home for another game and welcome Robinson at 8:00 p.m. on January 16th. Robinson is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Bloomingdale won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Durant at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Durant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
