Softball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

If Gateway was riding high fresh off their 26-6 takedown of Central Florida Christian Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers lost 11-1 to the Poinciana Eagles on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Poinciana, their record now sits at 7-10.

Looking ahead, Gateway will square off against Freedom at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.14 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. Poinciana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
