Basketball Recap: Santa Clara Takes a Loss

Santa Clara and Jefferson faced off in a Battle of the Bears on Tuesday. The Santa Clara Bruins received a blow as they fell 58-43 to the Jefferson Grizzlies. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1282nd, while the Grizzlies are ranked 466th).

This is the second loss in a row for Santa Clara and nudges their season record down to 1-7. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Clara will welcome Cupertino at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Jefferson, they will take on El Camino at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
