Volleyball Recap: V.R. Eaton Comes Up Short

V.R. Eaton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southlake Carroll Dragons. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Dragons when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Landri Trice paced V.R. Eaton's offense, picking up seven kills. Trice got some help from Ariana Gomez and her nine assists. Callie Gardner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Emma Eyster, who had 15 assists and five digs. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

V.R. Eaton's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Southlake Carroll, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

V.R. Eaton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Rockwall on the 22nd. As for Southlake Carroll, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Highland Park on the 22nd.
