Softball Recap: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. Dutch Fork Silver Foxes
After flying high against River Bluff last Tuesday, White Knoll came back down to earth. White Knoll fell just short of the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes by a score of 13-12 on Friday. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Silver Foxes when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Allie Royer and Jaden Ekovich stepped up to the plate in a big way. Royer scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Ekovich went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Ekovich has posted since back in March of 2024. Mackenzi Bradley was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI.
Even though they lost, White Knoll hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.
White Knoll's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Dutch Fork, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.
White Knoll wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-3 win against Irmo on the 25th. As for Dutch Fork, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 loss against Lexington on the 25th.
