Baseball Recap: Arlington Has No Trouble Against Grand Prairie

Arlington barely beat Grand Prairie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colts blew past the Gophers 8-0 on Thursday. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Gophers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Abraham Alvarado and Mason Hensley made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Alvarado didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Hensley pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. At the plate, Alvarado went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Hensley went 1-for-3 with one home run and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah Taylor, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lunden Prater, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Arlington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Grand Prairie only posted a batting average of .167.

Arlington's victory bumped their record up to 15-11. As for Grand Prairie, they dropped their record down to 4-20 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
