Softball Recap: Hazard Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs vs. Clay County Tigers

After losing to Clay County the last time they met, Hazard decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Hazard walked away with a 10-7 win over Clay County on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs.

Peyton Fields made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with six RBI and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Halle Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
