Football Preview: Primero Bulldogs vs. Manzanola Bobcats
Primero is 0-3 against Manzanola since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Primero Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Manzanola Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Primero is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Thursday. They breezed by Walsh at home to the tune of 73-31.
Brett Kendall had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 271 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns. His longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Gabe Sintas was another key pass catcher, picking up 128 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Primero's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jairo Vicente Dominguez.
Meanwhile, Manzanola had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Antonito 61-19 on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bobcats just coasted through the last quarter.
Manzanola wouldn't let Antonito keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jesse James was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing two fumbles and making two total tackles which he returned for a touchdown.
Primero took a serious blow against Manzanola in their previous matchup back in September of 2019, falling 53-0. Thankfully for Primero, Dalton Carroll (who picked up 135 receiving yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
