Softball Recap: Greendale Victorious

Greendale won the last time they faced Port Washington and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Pirates. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Maddie Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ella Padron was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greendale kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.

Greendale's win bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Port Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Greendale will challenge Sheboygan North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Port Washington, they will square off against Manitowoc Lincoln at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Ships have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
