Caravel Academy faced Red Lion Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Buccaneers had just enough and edged out the Lions 7-6. The victory was just business as usual for the Buccaneers, who after nine games remain undefeated this season.

Jacob Goldstein made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Matt Rice was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

Caravel Academy's record is now 9-0. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caravel Academy will square off against Laurel at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Red Lion Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Odessa at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
