Softball Recap: CSI International Studies Takes a Loss

CSI International Studies extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 29-13 to the Sunset Park HEAT. That's two games in a row now that CSI International Studies has lost by exactly 16 runs.

As for Sunset Park, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1. Considering they have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Sunset Park's part, the team relied heavily on Ashley Espinal Rodriguez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those four runs gave Espinal Rodriguez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Selena Espinal, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. CSI International Studies will head out to take on Brooklyn Studio at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. CSI International Studies is facing Brooklyn Studio at the right time seeing as Brooklyn Studio is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Sunset Park, they will take on Telecommunication Arts Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
