Baseball Game Preview: Bishop McNamara Mustangs vs. Archbishop Carroll Lions

The Bishop McNamara Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the Archbishop Carroll Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bishop McNamara's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They had just enough and edged out The Heights 1-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 20th.

Tyrone Leach looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Bishop Ireton, falling 25-0.

The victory made it two in a row for Bishop McNamara and bumps their season record up to 5-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Bishop McNamara's way against Archbishop Carroll in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Bishop McNamara made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
