Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Glenbrook North Spartans

The Lake Forest Scouts will head out to challenge the Glenbrook North Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Lake Forest is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mundelein just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to the Mustangs.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Glenbrook North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of New Trier.

Glenbrook North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Lake Forest will have to keep a close watch on Connor Chung and Jaiden Han, a pair of players who had a big impact on Glenbrook North's prior game. Chung had five digs and two aces, while Han had ten digs and two assists.

Lake Forest's loss dropped their record down to 9-25. As for Glenbrook North, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-17.

Lake Forest couldn't quite get it done against Glenbrook North in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Scouts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
