Basketball Recap: Johnson Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Comer, Johnson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pritzker Jaguars by a score of 32-24. This was payback for the Pumas, who suffered a 62-19 loss the last time these two teams met.

Johnson found their leader in freshman De'Zeriya Leary, who posted 19 points. Ziyah Smith was another key player, putting up seven points.

Despite the defeat, Pritzker saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isabella Medrano dropped a double-double with ten points and 20 rebounds.

The win got Johnson back to even at 1-1. As for Pritzker, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Johnson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-15 defeat against Julian on the 22nd. As for Pritzker, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Comer at 5:30 p.m. on December 2.
