Northern Guilford had won two straight games and Leena McField did her part to make it three on Wednesday. The Nighthawks came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-49 W against the Eastern Alamance Eagles for which the team can thank McField, who went 10-for-19 on her way to 29 points and eight steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted 17 or more points the last 15 times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Eastern Alamance lost, don't look at Makayla Scott. Despite the final result, she shot 44% from the field en route to 18 points and seven boards. Scott continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliya Trollinger, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Northern Guilford's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Eastern Alamance, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2.

Northern Guilford has already played their next contest, a 70-62 victory against North Surry on the 12th. As for Eastern Alamance, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-28 win against Orange on the 12th.
