Basketball Recap: Bradford Academy Comes Up Short

Bradford Academy lost against Lee Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bradford Academy Archers were dealt a 54-23 defeat at the hands of the Lee Christian Falcons.

Despite the loss, Bradford Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Megan Papaneri posted ten points.

Lee Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleigh Wilson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Wilson also grabbed five steals, which is notable because Lee Christian is 4-2 when she posts at least five steals, but 1-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Madison Mashburn, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Bradford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lee Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Crossroads Christian the next time they take the court. Lee Christian will head out to face Crossroads Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th, while Bradford Academy will host them at 2:30 p.m. on January 28th.
