Recap: Waverly Wolverines vs. Fonda-Fultonville Braves
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Waverly Wolverines walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 46-26 win on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but Waverly sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
It was another big night for Joey Tomasso, who threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.8 yards per attempt, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Watson, who picked up 161 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Despite the defeat, Fonda-Fultonville saw an underclassman step up: Keegan Croucher threw for 422 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.7% of his passes.
Waverly has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 13-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for Fonda-Fultonville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fonda-Fultonville also has no future games currently scheduled.
