Volleyball Recap: Beaufort Eagles vs. Bluffton Bobcats
Beaufort entered their matchup against Bluffton on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
Beaufort started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-23.
Erin Crosby paced Beaufort's offense, picking up nine kills. Crosby got some help from Alyson Dennison and her 23 assists. Dennison was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.
Beaufort's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Bluffton, they pushed their record up to 10-18 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Coincidentally, Beaufort and Bluffton will both be playing Colleton County the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Bobcats will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
