Baseball Recap: Smithtown Christian Victorious

It was close, but on Saturday the Smithtown Christian Knights sidestepped the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets for a 7-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Quincy Gibbs was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gibbs was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Smithtown Christian got a massive performance out of Isaiah Gibbs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Erick Aristy was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Smithtown Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fayetteville-Manlius, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Smithtown Christian and Fayetteville-Manlius will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Knights are set to square off against their familiar foe Amityville Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fayetteville-Manlius will take on rival Liverpool at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
