Basketball Recap: Decatur Central Takes a Loss

Decatur Central played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Plainfield Quakers, falling 66-41. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-13.

Plainfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ellison Stewart out in front who went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. Stewart has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Berkeley Williams was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight boards.

Decatur Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Plainfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Decatur Central nor Plainfield have any future games scheduled.
