Basketball Game Preview: American Fork Cavemen vs. Lehi Pioneers

The American Fork Cavemen will challenge the Lehi Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, American Fork came up short against Davis and fell 47-36. The Cavemen have struggled against the Darts recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lehi fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Payson on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Lions.

American Fork will need focus on slowing down Mckenzie Jepson, one of several Lehi players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelcee Rasmussen, who earned seven points along with 11 boards and four blocks.

Lehi's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for American Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

American Fork couldn't quite finish off Lehi when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 52-49. Thankfully for American Fork, Addy Scrivner (who went 9 of 14 on her way to 23 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
