Baseball Game Preview: Port Isabel Tarpons vs. Valley View Tigers

The Port Isabel Tarpons will head out to face off against the Valley View Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Isabel comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Port Isabel came up short against La Feria on Friday, falling 22-2.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Valley View made sure to put some runs up on the board against Grulla on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Gators. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Diego Vega was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Julio Sierra was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Valley View's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Port Isabel, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Port Isabel suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Valley View in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Tarpons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
