Hicks and Anacoco are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Pirates are taking a road trip to take on the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hicks' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Anacoco's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Hicks is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Sulphur just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Golden Tors by a score of 5-4.

Addison Coffman put in work no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
Coffman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cody Richardson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Another was Braedon Thacker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Anacoco entered their tilt with Florien on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Blackcats a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Anacoco got a massive performance out of Peyton Wenrich, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. The Indians are undefeated when Wenrich posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Thompson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Anacoco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florien only posted an OBP of .182.
Anacoco now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Hicks, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.
Hicks came out on top in a nail-biter against Anacoco when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
