Baseball Recap: West Cabarrus Takes a Loss

West Cabarrus fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against South Rowan on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

West Cabarrus saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cage Love, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

With the defeat, West Cabarrus broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for South Rowan, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Cabarrus will square off against Olympic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.8 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Rowan, they will challenge Jay M. Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
