Recap: Eldon Mustangs vs. Versailles Tigers
The Eldon Mustangs won the last time they faced the Versailles Tigers, and things went their way on Monday too. Eldon blew past the Tigers 57-20 on the road. Given Eldon's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Tigers are ranked 478th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eldon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydney Halderman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. Halderman has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Martonfi, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Eldon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Versailles, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Eldon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Versailles will head out on the road to face off against the Pintos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
