Baseball Recap: San Benito Drops Highest Score of Season Against Edinburg North

San Benito's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Edinburg North Cougars 13-3. The Greyhounds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Gabriel Covarrubias was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Aiden Barrera was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

San Benito was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg North only posted a batting average of .150.

With the victory, San Benito broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8. As for Edinburg North, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Benito will take on Weslaco at 6:30 p.m. on March 17th. As for Edinburg North, they will host Lyford at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
